My spiritual and exotic journey to India continued with my visit to Udaipur. A stunning city in the heart of Rajasthan that captures all facets of a bygone royal era. The city of lakes is stunning often referred to as the “Venice of the East”. The City place build in 1559 of white marble and granite is a marvel of intricate pillars, courtyards and architecture sitting on the eastern bank of Lake Pichola.
I was fortunate to stay at the Udaivilas a lovely property on the banks of Lake Pichola. I stayed in one of the rooms facing the lake and spa with a private pool. The water was cold but refreshing while taking an early morning swim while watching the sun rise over the lake and seeing the city palace in the distance. The spa with all traditional and western techniques has its own relaxation pool overlooking the lake.
My trip to India was varied and exciting but in Udaipur I came across real beauty and serenity because of the lakes, calming architecture and wonderful sights. The people of India area so kind & inviting; the culture just fascinating to explore.
