The newly opened VALENTINO US flagship store is an architectural work of art! Designed by the British architect David Chipperfield it encompasses 20,000 square feet on Fifth Avenue between 54 & 55th streets. The building used to house the Japanese Takashimaya department store and has 1,650 square tons of Italian marble used throughout.
The VALENTINO space is museum like in appearance and ascetics creating a peaceful venue to peruse the accessories on the 1st floor, women’s clothing on the 2nd and men’s on the 3rd. Whether you go up the elevator or use the marble stairs you feel like you are entering a gallery and not a store stocked to the prim with merchandise. If one wants to build an emporium to showcase a brand this venue is on point.
Some of the items are limited editions and showcased beautifully throughout the store like objects of art. In these days of mass production and uniformity it is truly a pleasure to see such attention to detail! The team that is in charge of the store is extremely knowledgeable and easy to deal with. Even if you are not interested in fashion check out this amazing piece of architecture and branding on your next visit to NYC!
