Mexico holds a special place in my heart because I have always been received so warmly. Whether I am in exciting Mexico City, soothing Riviera Maya or captivating Punta Mita, I am always at ease and looking forward to the adventure in store.
I recently discovered Punta Mita through a close friend and have fallen in LOVE with its beauty, white sand beaches and funky but glamourous vibe. I have consumed some amazing food throughout my visits in Punta Mita whether it be at a small family owned restaurant directly on the water, at a five star resort or a local chef driven restaurant.
Some of my favorites are as follows:

- Sufi is probably the most beautiful restaurant I have dined in while in Punta Mita. Located in the Punta Mita complex, you are greeted by a Moroccan themed entrance with hurricane candles, an infinity pool and a cool lounge before you see the outdoor restaurant to your left elevated looking over the water. The food is stunning with a mixture of Mexican & Mediterranean cuisine. It sounds unusual but the fusion is spellbinding. The tuna tartare in a spicy Sauce and the grilled fresh catch fish is heavenly. I had to visit this venue twice in one week because I just couldn’t get enough of the food, ambiance and view.
- Si Senor (Phone: 01 329 291 6652) is an amazing casual and fun restaurant right on the water where the waves actually splash you while you are dining. I am weary of tequila but the hand tossed margaritas with ginger & pineapple or cumber & cilantro are out of this world! The fresh catches of the day are brought to your table on a rod so you can select your fish and the preparation. I was blown away by the freshness of the fish, the delicious preparation and the super friendly service. I am always in search of the perfect flan and Si Senor did not disappoint.
- Café des Artistes del Mar is a dining wonder by local acclaimed Chef Thierry Blouet. Born in Puerto Rico to French parents he moved to Mexico and has used the local ingredients and his skills to perfection. From the taste to the presentation it is truly a gastronomical experience. The specialties are fish and seafood dishes that take advantage of the local products. Desserts are tempting and definitely worth the calories.
- Tupika at the stunning Imanta resort is a true gourmet experience in a beautiful setting. The food is fresh, local and sustainable. The vegetables are from organic gardens, the fish either caught each morning in front of the property or by nearby fisherman and the use of exotic indigenous fruits. You are reconnecting with nature at TUPIKA as the setting at the Imanta resort is breathtaking. Stunning villas spread around the natural property and showcasing this restaurant.
