I love when a city takes charge, taking once neglected neighborhoods and creating a thriving center for people to live, explore, dine, shop and be inspired by culture.
Wynwood Arts District is just such a neighborhood where once abandoned warehouses and factories have been revitalized for multi-use artistic purposes creating a thriving cultural art scene in Miami.
Wynwood is one of my favorite parts of Miami especially because of the Wynwood Walls a dynamic mix of art is displayed on these walls. Thought provoking, novel and a sight to relish the creativity of these gifted artists.
When my mother, sister & I decided that we wanted to explore Wynwood, dining was of course part of the equation. We were fortunate that we picked Wynwood Kitchen & Bar with a direct view of the Walls on the outside terrace for our meal. With a hip and fun vibe with a DJ spinning tunes and an eclectic tapas menu it was a super fun and memorable experience. To be able to sip a libation and check out the Wynwood Walls was truly special. Wywood is not staged or contrived, but a true arts district for artists to share their vision.
We were truly fortunate that we were able to explore and take in this raw cultural side of Miami. I look forward to returning and spending more time in the arts district on my next sojourn to Miami.
