In my opinion, having gone to school in Boston. there is no better place to get a lobster roll than in Boston! A lobster roll is iconic with the city.
What makes it so special is the tender lobster, especially during the summer months when the lobsters are caught in the cold waters.
During my most recent business trip I had the most amazing lobster roll at the Harvard Club in Boston. What made it so special was Tina the fantastic bartender and server that explained the history of the club to me and advised me that in her opinion they made the best lobster roll.
Well, Tina was spot on as this Lobster roll served with sinful truffle fries was one if not the best I have ever had. The lobster melted in ones mouth, lightly coated with mayonnaise with celery and salt/pepper.
The Lobster was not heavy but just right, not tough but tender, and sweet to the taste. If I have lobster outside of Boston it can be too heavy and a bit tough. The cold waters make the lobster perfect! Tina if recommended that I have the lobster on top of a chopped salad to avoid the bun and the preparation was sinful. The cold lettuce topped with the luscious lobster is perfection.
The best part of business travel is being able to explore a bit if time allows. Exploration of culture and cuisine add a dynamic side to business travel which can become mundane if one doesn’t think outside the box. My recent stay at the Harvard Club brought me great new personal connections, ambiance and fantastic food!
