On a recent business and cultural trip to Monte Carlo I dined at Avenue 31 located at 31 Avenue Princess Grace facing the water. Avenue 31 is located in a more residential area of Monte Carlo with upscale apartment buildings and stunning views of the sea.

Avenue 31 is modern Mediterranean dining with a sleek and chic blue and beige interior. With its location across the street from the water it is relaxing but not over crowded like so many places located on the water. The staff is very attentive and the setting even though relaxing is great for a business lunch.

The lunch and dinner menus consist of seasonal grilled fish, meats, pasta, pizza’s and salads. The food is fresh and lightly prepared. There are prix fixe menus for lunch so that one can sample the different items.

For dinner, there are daily specials so one can have the freshest fish with seasonal vegetables, pasta or rice. My meal is not complete without dessert – there is a selection of chocolate cake, tiramisu and baked apple to name a few to choose from.

I adore the ambience, food and service because in a city with lots of glamorous dining venues, Avenue 31 is a modern dining venue overlooking the water with fantastic fresh regional food. It chic while being organic and natural.
