I travel extensibly all over the globe but at times I neglect my city of residence Washington, DC. The nations capitol in the last several years has seen a resurgence of dining in neighborhoods that were once sleepy.
The Cathedral Heights neighborhood is one such neighborhood. In the last few years a new urban revitalization has brought in new restaurants, retail and fitness.
One restaurant that stands out to me for having great food, service and being open late is Silver. An American brasserie taking the diner concept but turning into a fun gourmet experience for all ages.
I have ate at Silver several times and each time has been fantastic because the food is fresh and farm to table.
Whether I had the Cobb salad, chicken club, avocado toast or a freshly made libation it was amazing. I like that the Silver is open late for a great late night snack or an after spot after a work event.
Taking the diner concept and elevating it is a fun idea that works!!
