Rome is one of my favorite cities to visit for pleasure because of the amazing historic sights, great food and the warmness of the people.
I am very fortunate to have celebrated my Birthday with my family in Rome. It was truly the celebration of La Dolce Vita! It couldn’t have been any better.
Of course part of any trip to Italy is the food. We frequented so many great dining venues that it is hard to single any one out so I am going to write about some of my favorites in the next few blog post.
Near the Spanish steps and behind the VALENTINO flagship store at Piazza Spagna sits Ristorante Alla Rampa. A wonderful Restaurant serving fantastic Italian food with great service.
The outdoor sitting even in January is amazing because of the heat lamps. My family and I went several times for lunch because of the great food.
We had fettuccine with house made pesto sauce, spaghetti bolognese, veal Milanese, fettuccine with fresh artichokes and sliced fresh artichokes with grated Parmesan. It was all mouth watering good.
For dessert we had fresh chocolate cake, profiteroles with hot dark chocolate sauce and a magnificent mixed farm fresh berry tart.
The service is so friendly and attentive. Great servers that take real pride in the food they serve. I can’t wait to return to Rome to sit on the terrace of Alla Rampa and enjoy a great meal and libation.
