For a small principality Monte Carlo has a diverse sampling of restaurants. I was fortunate on a recent visit to try Maya Jah a fantastic new Indian restaurant on Avenue Princess Grace in Monaco.
Maya Jah is authentic because chef Ravinder Negi trained at the culinary institute in India. Chef Negi brings his experience and talent to Monte Carlo to make the food at Maya Jah flavorful, authentic and creative.
I adore Indian food because of the variety and tastes. I tried the Chicken Tikka from the tandoor oven, the mushroom and green pea curry with basmati rice and an assortment of naans.
The Chicken tikka was moist with the right amount of spices, the basmati rice flaky, and the curry was delicious and blended perfectly.
The décor is striking and modern with an Indian twist. The main dining room is decorated with whites, marble and brass. Then there is the use of the deep reds and oranges an ode to India. The setting and ambiance is seductive, exotic and romantic! The outdoor terrace is lovely when weather permits. Further, there is a tastefully designed bar area for libations before or after dinner.
A wonderful venue for dinner especially as we head into fall and winter. Maya Jah has the gorgeous design and ambiance coupled with the wonderfully prepared Indian food.
