There are certain times in my life that I am very glad I travel for business regularly. My last very short business trip to London was one of them. I was very fortunate to see the Dior exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum because it is mesmerizing!
Even though the V&A is free to enter you need a pass to get into the DIOR exhibition. So, make sure you have a pass in advance before you go to the museum and or you will have your hopes shattered. I was fortunate that a business colleague had secured our passes in advance. Fast thinking on his part.
The exhibition traces Christian Dior’s haute Couture creations from 1947 to the present time. The installation of these dresses and accessories is stunning, leaving me breathless. There are 200 rare haute couture garments from the archives.
I didn’t know where to look because each piece of haute couture was more tantalizing than the next. Each room has its own theme whether it is all white, evening, beading but all glamorous and beautifully crafted and executed. Each room is more beautiful than the next.
The exhibit explores Mr. Dior’s relationship and admiration with Britain! Even though I didn’t have enough time to really reflect on each piece, as my time was limited because I had to go to a business event, I thoroughly enjoyed being captivated by each couture creation and accessory.
