I just returned from a business trip to Mexico, one of my favorite countries because of the warmth I receive on arrival. The culture, people and food are just mesmerizing and always brightening my soul.
Through the years traveling to Mexico I have noticed that the food scene has truly evolved. In the coastal towns the fish and produce are sourced locally for an exceptional taste.
On my recent visit I had an opportunity to have dinner at Tuna Blanca by Chef Thierry Blouet. Tuna Blanca is situated right on the water in the small coastal town of Punta De Mita. The restaurant is charming with indoor and outdoor seating and large lanterns facing the water for a soothing feel.
Chef Thierry Blouet takes the fresh coastal ingredients and creates simple but elegant dishes that are beautifully presented. The mescal shrimp flamed by the table or the local lobster are grilled to perfection.
I was craving a salad and had the table side prepared Caesar salad which is a must. It was simple and tasty, with crisp romaine lettuce, house made dressing and fresh anchovies topped off with shaved parmesan.
The dessert presentation is surreal with desserts brought out on a surfboard with sparklers. At night the sparkles illuminate the water side dinning and are truly captivating.
Tuna Blanca is a special experience with private waterfront dining, relaxed ambience and spectacular food.
