With a busy life comes the need to recharge, reflect and refuel the body. I know I get into a groove where I just keep going and don’t realize how tired my soul is. I need some time to just stop so I can reconnect with family and friends.

During a recent business trip to New York City my sister invited me to East Hampton for the weekend to recharge. We spent the days soaking in the fresh air, swimming and talking long walks on the beach. This short time together in nature helped me realign my body and feel more whole.
When it comes to food, eating healthy is paramount to me. I try to keep away from toxins and eat natural. When I eat organic and natural, I have more energy and can better withstand the pressures of my work.

As Sherry and I were driving to Montauk we stopped in Amagansett to pick up lunch and we discovered a great eatery called Organic Krush. Organic Krush serves breakfast, lunch, snacks and libations like fresh smoothies and cold pressed juices.

Owned by three families they believe in food that is natural, organic, locally sourced and free of pesticides, GMO hormones and fake ingredients.

I had the fresh bowl with coconut shrimp on brown rice with vegetables and a peanut ginger sauce that was delicious. Sherry had the fish tacos that she raved about. We had the beet and cucumber cold pressed juices which were both fresh and tasty.

The gluten free backed goods are fantastic. I am not a big muffin eater, but these muffins are delicious. We had the zucchini, chocolate and coconut and the Paleo chocolate. Even though healthy, these muffins are rich and tasty.

After eating a great deal I didn’t feel heavy but just greatly satisfied!
