On a recent trip to Nice France I was fortunate to try some great chef driven restaurants with fantastic food and a fun ambience. Nice has really reemerged on the restaurant scene with amazing local dining venues.
One of these restaurants is L’Uzine located in central Nice. The interior décor is industrial with fun political art and a hip trendy ambience and a great atmosphere.
The vibe is young, and the wooden tables adorned with candles and herb trees gives one a sense of comfort. The menu is eclectic with a choice of appetizers, main courses and desserts. The appetizers looked so good that I tried a few instead of ordering a main course. I enjoyed the diversity of flavors and tastes.
I started with the morels sautéed with chives, the tempura jumbo shrimp and a deliciously fresh house salad with a lemon vinaigrette. For dessert I had an assortment of house made fruit sorbets. My family had the steak and the house made pastas.
The service is very friendly and attentive. L’Uzine is a fun, casual dining venue with great food and an artistic vibe. I love exploring and frequenting local restaurants run by young emerging chefs, eating great food while supporting these talented chefs.
