Campiello is a fantastic Italian restaurant in old Naples Florida. With a beautiful terrace to dine al fresco or indoor dining for those hot summer days. Even on a summer evening I prefer the terrace as it has more character and overlooks historic third street.
Housed in an old mercantile building, it is a charming and authentic dining venue. I adore old Naples because it has a sweet character of its own. The menu is comprehensive and offers an array of salads, fresh pizzas, homemade pasta and fish, chicken, or meat dishes.
We had an assortment of fresh pasta such as chicken Bolognese, braised beef, and veal. The Margherita pizza is thin crust with just the right number of Tomatoes and cheese. The snapper piccata is enough to share with a side of roasted vegetables or risotto. The portions are hearty so we had no more room to try the desserts.
I had a refreshing summer spritz called the “hugo” that contains mulled mint, prosecco, elderberry liqueur, a dash of club soda, lime slices and ice cubes. It was served in a tall wine glass and utterly refreshing! I felt like I was on the Amalfi coast.
The service is friendly and the ambiance under the lighted trees is soothing and dreamy.
