I often get asked if pages can be added to a US passport that is out of pages or close to being full. The answer is no pages cannot be added to a US passport any longer. The passport holder must apply for a passport renewal. The reason is that these new generation passports are chip encrypted thus pages cannot be added to these types of more secure passports.

I recommend when our clients complete the DS82 passport renewal application form that they check that they want the 50-page book. This is a larger passport book that will ensure they do not run out of pages as quickly, especially if they travel a great deal.
