I can’t think of a better quote that describes the music of songstress Lalah Hathaway. Daughter of the late Donny Hathaway, her deep elegant tone will always be linked with his legacy but she has defined herself as an artist that can cross many genres of music, from R&B, Jazz, Soul & Gospel. After a long and tiring work week I have often found myself enjoying one of her many albums over a libation and just relaxing, somehow losing the stress of the work week in her words.

I am excited and thoroughly looking forward to seeing her live when she graces the Howard Theatre. I am sure that this will be one of my highlights this summer.
