In these troubled times it is so important to patronize local restaurants when one can. Local businesses are suffering because of the months of forced shutdowns due to the health crisis. 

located in Alexandria Virginia, A La Lucia is a great local restaurant with fantastic Italian fare and wonderful service. 

They have set up tables on the sidewalk and into the street to accommodate clients such as myself that still don’t want to dine inside. 

My girlfriend and I went for a change of pace and to celebrate her birthday. We had the three course restaurant week menu which was delicious. 

We shared a Margherita pizza. She had the grilled salmon and I had the chicken Marsala as my main course. 

The desserts are sublime. I had the chocolate mousse and she had the tiramisu, all made in house. As a surprise they brought her a piece of housemade chocolate cake with a candle to celebrate her birthday! 

What makes A La Lucia so special is the team members that are so friendly and accommodating. During these difficult times it’s nice to go to a local restaurant where you feel part of a family!
