One of the advantages of living in Washington, DC is having access to so many great ethnic restaurants. I adore kabob and Afghan food so multiple friends suggested I try Bistro Aracosia, an authentic Afghan restaurant.
Bistro Aracosia serves an assortment of kabobs, stews, dumplings, roasted eggplant and a variety of rice to accompany the kabobs and stews.
Located in a tree lined residential neighborhood in Washington, DC the restaurant has a great friendly ambience and wonderful service. The management is vested in their locally owned business and they truly make every guest feel welcome!
We had an assortment of kabobs, the specialty sweet rice “qabuli palou” and an assortment of dumplings for dinner. For dessert we had the rice pudding and cardamom tea.
The dumplings were so tasty and delicious with an assortment of flavors. My chicken kabob was juicy and marinated in spices served with saffron rice.
I look forward to returning to Bistro Aracosia so I can try more of their authentic Afghan cuisine.
