On a recent trip to Key Biscayne, I had the pleasure of having dinner at Costa Med. I was pleased to go to a local restaurant with fantastic food and service. With chain restaurants taking over it is wonderful to see local establishments thrive.

Costa Med is intimate with soothing décor and a team that wants to make sure you enjoy your dining experience. Our server had recently immigrated from Cuba, he was eager to tell us about the menu and his favorites items. The dinner menu has an assortment of freshly prepared items using local ingredients.

For dinner we had the catch of the day grilled, which was perfect, the Milanese, house made Bolognese with fresh pasta and shared a large endive and pear salad. For our sides we had the dreamy, mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach.

For dessert we shared a flan which was one of the best I have had with expresso with hot milk to finish our meal. Costa Med was truly a relaxing experience with delicious food and spot on service. It felt like dining at a good friend’s home and not a restaurant.
