Ronda is a beautiful mountaintop city in southern Spain set above a deep gorge. Walking around Ronda is a feast for the eyes, historical architecture, the gorge, and the stunning view of the valley.

We walked around the edge of the city passed the famous bridge that connects the old and new city which is an observation area to see the gorge. The scenery is picturesque.

After the bridge we kept walking to our right into the old city where we decided that we wanted to enjoy the fantastic weather and sit on the terrace and have a relaxing lunch.

We stumbled upon the El Morabiti restaurant because we walked in and saw the expansive view of the valley and the wonderful vibe we received from the owner. We had a table on the terrace overlooking the valley which is spellbinding. The restaurant consists of a large house in the center of the property with terraces on both sides and in the front facing the valley. To the right of the entry is an outside bar with bar seating.

They were remarkably busy, but the wait staff did their best to make us comfortable. The star beside the ravishing views is the food. The portions are tapas size, but the taste is extraordinary. Whether you order, Asian, sushi, fish, noodles or just a salad you are going to go on culinary experience. Chef Garcia is using his skills to move one with his innovative cooking.

One of the best meals I had while in Spain. Each dish we tried, and we ordered many of the menu were full of complimentary flavors and tastes. The selections are seasonal so the menu changes. We were not accepting such a gourmet but casual meal, so we were pleasantly surprised.

El Morabiti is a necessary addiction, and I cannot wait to return. Unfortunately, they do not have a website, but their Instagram is @el morabito-ronda
