When I am in lower Manhattan and need to take a client or friend to eat out, I ask my sister Sherry the uber interior stylist for her advice. She knows what I am looking for and directs me to the right dining venue with the best food and ambience!
Such is the case with Frenchette in Tribeca. Last Saturday my sister and I had a late lunch there and it was so good that I made a reservation to have dinner there with my clients that night. The lunch/brunch menu is entirely different from the more formal dinner menu.
Frenchette has a cool and inviting ambience with a friendly staff and fantastic food. Located in Tribeca, this French bistro has a downtown vibe mixed with sophisticated food.
For lunch we had a roasted salad of beets, carrots and lentil with yogurt along with an Arctic char eggs benedict that was served with roasted potatoes. We could not resist ordering a side of french fries as it was so hot and inviting. My sister Sherry and I skipped dessert even though the selection looked amazing because the fries did us in!
For dinner we ordered a large dourade to share along with a filet. We shared a citrus salad and marinated leeks for our starter. For dessert we shared a rhubarb ginger crust tart.
The food is so fresh and well prepared. If you want to experience Frenchette, the lunch/brunch menu is more reasonable than the dinner menu. A great dining venue and very soothing to the senses along with great French comfort food!
