After a rigorous workout with my sister Sherry I had to head to Goldberg’s for a toasted poppy bagel with chive cream cheese. Life is short and one must enjoy good food.
Goldberg’s is an institution on Long Island and from the size of the line and the taste of the bagels I can see why. We went on a rainy day and it was packed with people. With locations throughout the Hamptons this purveyor of bagels is second to none.
At the East Hampton location there is seating inside and covered picnic tables outside.
With a large assortment of house made bagels and spreads you can order the bagel of your dreams. I had my bagel scooped with the inside taken out, so it is light and fluffy when toasted. The outside is crusty and flavorful with poppy seeds. The Chive cream cheese was delicious and added so much to the bagel.
The best part of vacation is not being on a set schedule and eating what I want. To be able to sit outside at a picnic table and bite into my bagel was nirvana. The small pleasures in life can be the best.
