I have been traveling to Beijing for many years now and I am extremely pleased by the more advanced and intricate culinary food scene. For a while I felt it was a hit or miss but lately restaurants like Alan Yau’s Jing Yaa Tang have raised the bar when it comes to décor, ambience and most importantly food preparation.
Jing Yaa Tang is Alan Yau’s first foray into mainland China. What I loved about Jing Yaa Tang was the comfort food like the Peking Duck and the dim sum prepared with a twist while one is sitting center stage watching the chefs prepare the food. The dim sum is varied and mouthwatering good. The service is so attentive.
I am great fan of London based restaurateur Alan Yau because the attention to detail with all the dining venues of his that I have visited. From the green and black jewel box designed Song Qi located in Monaco to the opulent Park Chinois in London that combines luscious food with music/dancing, each one is unique and a sight for the senses.
Alan Yau creates restaurants all different in design and ambiance but with one common element being the amazingly prepared food. I always look forward to his new ventures around the world because each is so unique than the next.
