Kazumi is a fantastic local modern Japanese restaurant in Key Biscayne Florida. It is a quaint dining venue with outdoor seating when Florida weather permits.

It is more a fusion of Japanese and South American culture and cuisine. Their menu consists of tapas, traditional & special rolls, bento boxes, robata grill items and rice bowls, and an assortment of appetizers like honey shrimp and seaweed salad. There is an assortment of soups and salads like fresh seafood salad.

My favorite was the honey shrimp that consisted of large jump shrimp fried and tossed in honey. Crisp and delicious. I prefer the traditional rolls over the special as I am not a fan of lots of different sauces on my rolls. I usually do not drink but the plum & lychee Saki was wonderful. Light, crisp and not too sweet.

Overall Kazumi is the perfect local restaurant when one does not want to go to Miami proper but still has a great meal with a fun ambiance.
