La Boone Vache is a wonderful new local French inspired neighborhood restaurant in the Georgetown section of Washington, DC. The former home of a long-standing local sandwich shop has been redesigned into this quaint bistro.
The owners pay homage to the former sandwich shop with an array of gourmet burgers and sandwiches such as chicken paillard on a baguette, crispy cod, shaved rib eye and the traditional jamon & fromage. There are tantalizing salads like the endive with blue cheese, roasted walnuts with grapes and beet with goat cheese & apples. Th French fries are mouthwatering good. There is an assortment of appetizers like the rillette of salmon and the gougeres which are gruyere cheese puffs.
For dessert we had the crème caramel and the dark chocolate mousse which are delightful. We met Claire one of the owners who is so enthusiastic about their amazing French inspired dining venue. Cannot wait to go back to try different items.
