La Casa de las Sirenas is a fantastic Mexican restaurant right in the heart of downtown and historic district of Mexico City. After visiting the Cathedral, National Palace, the newly discovered ruins or the square, La Casa de Las Sirenas is a wonderful place to grab a libation and a meal, sit back, relax and enjoy the view!
Located in a historic multi-level townhouse overlooking the Cathedral and square you feel like you are a part of history when you walk in. With an outdoor terrace at the entrance and a stunning rooftop terrace, it offers a beautiful view of the Cathedral and square.
There is a myriad of steps that take you to the rooftop terrace, but it is worth the hike. The rooftop terrace is the best place to savor the traditional Mexican cuisine and take in the culture of Mexico City.
I have tried the fish which is fresh and guacamole which is served as an appetizer. The flan was delicious for dessert. There is a complete list of libations but the tamarind margarita made with the tamarind fruit is my favorite with a tart/sweet taste.
It is challenging at times to find a nice dining venue in a historic tourist area but La Casa de Las Sirenas does not disappoint with its view, food and libations.
