La Mar is a fantastic modern seafood restaurant located in a fun and hip section of Bogota. With a detailed menu full of small and large plates the selection is truly fusion with so many different flavors and choices to select.  

I went with a group and we decided to try an assortment of small plates which was a nice way to get a sense of the seafood choices. From the Asian  inspired tuna sashimi to the spicy grilled shrimp, grilled local fish and organic salads we had a true culinary journey.  

All the items were fresh, tasty and we experienced a great style of Colombian fusion cuisine. We speak about organic in the U.S. but we could taste the freshness of the ingredients we ate.  

La Mar is a beautiful open kitchen concept restaurant with multiple rooms with high ceilings and a large bar one can eat at.  The decor is modern and chic with wood and glass but comfortable.  

Even though the staff didn’t speak much English they tried their best to assist us and they went out of their way to accommodate our needs.

During my stay in Bogota I tried many different  restaurants and each blow us away with their cuisine, innovation and service.  

La Mar is a truly unique dining experience for anyone that adores seafood like me. Especially seafood that is prepared outside the normal preparation!
