The Mandolin Aegean Bistro located in the design district in Miami is sublime not only for the home cooked Turkish and Greek food but for the relaxing and soothing outdoor garden seating.
Located in a small 1930’s house that has been transformed into a Mediterranean wonder with painted white walls, blue trim and a large garden filled with mature trees, plants and bougainvillea. The setting is just so romantic, relaxing and reminiscent of an Aegean or Turkish costal village.
When I walked in through the door into the garden I was instantly taken away by the beauty of the garden and the comfortable and friendly feel of the restaurant.
We were seated under a large tree with a breeze hitting my shoulders. Then we were given the menu and we had to decide which dishes we were going to order and sample.
We started with an order of Greek spreads, Greek salad, grilled jumbo prawns, chicken kabob with a side of rice and French fries. Each dish is brought when ready to share and each dish was delicious. Fresh, tasty and flavorful.
The chicken Kabob is marinated in yogurt for 24 hours, so it is grilled to perfection and so juicy with a side of delicious fries. The Greek salad is fresh with a large junk of Feta cheese and the grilled prawns are large and moist.
Dining at the Mandolin Aegean Bistro is a truly delightful experience because the owners who are from the Mediterranean are hands on and take a real interest in making sure their guests savor the food and culture of the Mediterranean.
