I can’t stand lipstick or eye shadow that doesn’t last! I am way too busy with work, meetings and business travel to constantly reapply.

On my travels I am always on the look our for eyeshadows and lipsticks that last, are affordable and are highly pigmented. For me, highly pigmented means the product will last.

I came across makeup artist Pat McGraths line on a recent business trip to New York. I visited a pop up store at Bergdorf Goodman and had fun experimenting with the different eyeshadow palette, lipsticks and glosses.

I was surprised that the price point was reasonable for the quality of the products. Malissa the resident Pat McGrath Labs expert told me that the eyeshadows can be layered, and the lipstick used as blush. The concept is to interchange, layer and have fun! It is just makeup so if you don’t like it, you can always take it off!

I adore a pinky nude lip because I like to play up my eyes. I found a great nude lipstick in a crème and the new line in a shimmer. I like a bit of a shimmer on my eyes to wake them up and I found a fantastic pink mauve shimmer.

The packaging is wonderful with gold lips on the lipsticks and the eyeshadow comes in plastic packaging with gold confetti in it. For me, makeup is about experimenting and Pat McGrath not only has amazing products but a great sense of humor!
