When traveling for business if I have time I try to explore the local cultural scene. Trying local restaurants and getting out of my hotel.
On a recent trip to Arizona for the USTOA conference www.ustoa.com I had the opportunity to try the Persian Room. It was wonderful to try a local restaurant the serves fresh and delicious Persian food. Two of my colleagues joined me for an evening of great food and conversation.
The Persian Room has an extensive menu of traditional appetizers, stews and varied combinations of beef, chicken, fish and lamb kabob served with flaky basmati rice and grilled tomatoes. The portions are tremendous. I had the chicken kabob combination which included a ground chicken kabob as well.
The appetizers range from chopped cucumber, tomato & onion salad, yogurt with shallots and grilled eggplants with Kashk. All the items are fantastic and delicious.
Even though we were stuffed, we ordered Persian ice cream made with rose water and saffron. Of course we had to end our wonderful dining experience with fresh Persian tea.
It was truly fun to get off property enjoy a great Persian meal and experience the inviting ambiance of the Persian Room!
