Pulcinella Restaurant in McLean Virginia is a little gem on the corner of a strip shopping center. Melo, the owner is so hospitable and wants to make sure all his customers receive the best food and experience. He comes to every table and personally explains the menu and his love of cooking.
When I first walked in, I was a bit apprehensive as it was small but when I saw the professional wood burning oven and the food coming out of the open concept kitchen all my concerns were put to rest.
The menu gives one a vast selection of classic Italian choices with a wonderful list of appetizer, entrees, pizza, and delicious sweets for dessert. We started with a large pizza hand crafted in the wood burning oven followed with Chicken Lemon accompanied with fresh pasta with a tangy zesty tomato sauce and a classis house made tiramisu for dessert.
All the items are house made so fresh and full of taste. The crust on the pizza which is hand tossed is so fine that it is truly one of the best I have had outside of Italy. The chicken with a butter lemon sauce was delicate and smooth. Looking forward to returning and trying other items.
