Shurfa Bay is located at the Riviera Beach Club across from the St. Regis hotel in Abu Dhabi which is located on the corniche. After a long international flight I wanted to get some Middle Eastern Lebanese food and to find Shurfa Bay right on the water was fantastic.
I sat outside right in front of the water and the sea breeze sea relaxed me immediately. Then I opened the menu to be transfixed with a large assortment of cold & hot appetizers, main courses, grill kabobs and desserts.
I ordered a tabbouleh, falafel, grape leaves, babagonoush and the chicken fatteh. Before I received my dinner order I was served piping hot house bade bread with delectable olive oil and zatar. All the items I ordered were fresh, beautifully prepared and delicious. The chicken fatteh was a ream with moist chicken in a yogurt and tahini sauce with pita chips, pomegranate seeds and wonderful spices. Some of the best Lebanese food I consumed with friendly and attentive service.
The best part of the dinner was having my Turkish coffee and baklava facing the sea. It truly dawned on me that I was in Abu Dhabi and partaking in the cuisine of the region while being on the tranquil water. .
