The current health crisis has also brought an economic crisis. During this time I find it is imperative to support my local restaurants by ordering takeout and dining outdoors when safe and possible.
Many small businesses, especially restaurants, need our patronage so they can weather this incredibly difficult storm!
I adore Thai food and one of the best in my neighborhood is Thai Select opened July 2019 by Chotaka Chevasutho and her family.
Chotaka has been in the restaurant business for the last ten years and the family owns three restaurants in the DC area.
Chotaka told me that “she strives to prepare food that her Mom would make at home. Food that is made with fresh ingredients and cooked to order and clients specifications.”
Currently they are offering takeout, delivery and outside social distancing dining in a section of the parking lot facing their restaurant.
The food at Thai Select is fresh, delicious and flavorful. I am a big fan of chicken with ginger and their version with scallions, black mushrooms and other vegetables is fantastic!
The Larb Gai salad is minced chicken with spices and tossed with a fresh lime dressing served with crisp lettuce and shaved carrots.
There is a great selection of appetizers, main dishes, noddles and an assortment of curry.
There is a selection of bubble tea, fresh iced teas and delicious iced Thai coffee.
I know these are trying times but I feel it is so important to support my local small restaurant so they have a chance!
