I was contemplating where to go on vacation when I decided that Miami would be a great spot; as after lots of business travel I didn’t want to get on another long haul flight. There are so many spots to discover in the Miami area, filled with such lively and varied culture.
Of course every vacation for me has to involve pre-planning dinner venues before I go. I want to plan everything ahead and just relax and take it easy when I arrive. I guess I can’t shake having to be always organized for business.
I was totally blown way by The Forge, located in Miami Beach, an iconic restaurant that had been in the restaurant scene for years but one that has recently updated their decor and menu.
The decor is a mix of classic and sleek modern with stunning grand scale chandeliers, sconces and art. You feel like you are dining in a museum. We stayed in the main dining room which is vast with high ceilings. We sat on a banquette which gave us a fantastic view over the entire space.
The farm to table selections made my dinner choices hard to select. I went wit the table side Cesar salad followed by the grilled Bronzino with a citrus ginger sauce over cilantro and watercress. Desert was a scrumptious chocolate grand mariner soufflé.
Our server Jergen made sure to explain the history of The Forge to us and to make sure we are not rushed. He explained each menu item and how it was prepared.
