I work in a corporate environment but my alter-ego likes all things GLAMOROUS. Enter Zuhair Murad and his beautifully crafted gowns. Not that I can afford his Haute Couture creations but I do appreciate all the workmanship and creativity that has gone into bringing his vision to life. He creates clothes that are sensual but not overt; elegant but sexy.
Zuhair Murad opened his first atelier in Beirut in 1997. His corporate structure is still based in Beirut, Lebanon. In 2001 he showed his Haute Couture collection in Paris where he now has a flagship store and couture atelier. His use of lace, tulle, beading, sequins and feathers make his gowns ethereal creations. Haute Couture is a dying art that needs to be cultivated.
With all the strife in the Middle East it is heartwarming that he brings employment, creativity and passion to the region. Showcasing his talent and proofing that through art & fashion once can build a bridge between East & West.
